Nestled in the quiet southern quarter of Chora, in one of its oldest neighborhoods, the 211 sqm Ypapanti blends centuries of Patmian architecture. Its ground floor dates to the 17th century, featuring stone arches, select ceilings made of the local astivi plant, original doors, and clerestory windows. The upper floor, added in the early 19th century, reflects neoclassical influences. This traditional Patmian urban house features a multilevel layout, interconnected courtyards, lime-plastered walls, and centuries of local craftsmanship.
The layout includes one master bedroom with ensuite and dressing area, plus two double bedrooms with separate bathrooms. Traditional craftsmanship was preserved, while bespoke design, lighting, and bold colors introduce a contemporary twist. Aged marble and antique window shutters serve as tables and cabinets. The original wooden floors and cement tiles complement reclaimed cotto tiles and marble sinks. Vintage Greek and French textiles, and a curation of antique pieces enrich the interiors with subtle color and texture.
Ypapanti is ideal for 4–6 guests, offering four separate outdoor areas totaling 84 sqm, including an outdoor dining space, a spacious front terrace with sunset views, and a back terrace overlooking Prophet Elias Monastery, the highest point on Patmos.
